Staff Spring Fitness Courses

Spring into Spring!

The staff spring session will run for 6 weeks, and classes start the week of April 27, 2020

You can register online, or drop in to the office to sign up.

  • Registration opens for everyone on Tuesday, April 14th

Please note:  Registration for fitness classes does not include a membership to our Fitness Center.  Memberships must be purchased to use the facility.

Staff/Lunch Prices

A minimum of 10 people registered is necessary to run the course. If the minimum is not reached, you can transfer to another class or get refunded. 

  • McGill Staff:  $17.40 + taxes
  • Complex Members & JAC staff:  $35 + taxes 
  • Non-members & Community:  $40 + taxes
  • Drop-In fee per class $8 + taxes

BADMINTON & PICKLEBALL (Gym) Tues & Thurs 1:00-1:45 pm    
April 28 - June 4 (Baasir)

Improve your badminton or pickleball in this unique course that uses a "practice and play" philosophy of learning. Participants will receive 20 minutes of dynamic instruction and skill development followed by 25 minutes of playing time. All equipment is provided.

TAI CHI Monday 11:40-12:25 (Studio)                                                                                            April 27- June 1 (Leon)

Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing.  If you're looking for a way to reduce stress, Tai Chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements.
STAFF YOGA  Mon & Wed - 12:15-1:00pm (Studio)

(For McGill Staff, JAC Staff)  Yoga can be as much or as little as you want it to be. For some it is purely a physical pursuit, keeping the body toned, strong and flexible. For others, yoga becomes more of a mindset and a way of living. Whatever your reason for practicing, or your level of experience – you'll love the class.  (Space is limited)
BOOT CAMP Mon & Wed 12:30-1:15pm (Gym)

Looking to spice up your strength training routine? Boost your conditioning and confidence to the next level using a variety of functional training equipment. Challenge yourself and watch your transformation.
STRENGTH, CORE & MORE  Fri 12:30-1:15 pm (Gym)
May 1 - June 5 (Caroline)
Strength, Core & More mixes core strengthening, weights, and basic movements in one incredible workout. A great option for anyone looking for an efficient, effective way to get their body  in shape. You'll combine weights with functional movement patterns to build a core strong enough to support an active lifestyle.
TOTAL BODY FITNESS - Lunch time - Tue & Thu 12:15-1:00pm (Gym)

A strength training class targeting major muscle groups using various equipment and body weight. TBF incorporates bursts of cardio into movements intended to help you tone all major muscles.
SPINNING - Lunch time - Tues & Thurs 12:15-1:00pm (Studio)
April 28 - June 6 (Terri Tues & Crystal Thurs)
Spinning is a great way to sweat off those calories, improve performance and give you a great work out.  This great cardio workout will get you in tip-top shape.  Get on the bike and ride!  The instructor will lead you through a series of hills, sprints, and flats, while listening to great music!
