Another solid performance for the Mac Woodsmen & Woodswomen at Fleming College
The Mac Woodsmen & Women had another solid performance this weekend at Fleming college!
Women’s A finished a very close 2nd out of 8 teams, only 23 points behind Dalhousie. Men’s A finished 3rd overall, behind DAL (1st) and UNB (2nd), and Men’s B finished 8th out of 10 teams.
Top placings included a first place for Men’s A in team crosscut, which they have worked very hard for, as well as the choker race special event (Victor Labelle), a close 2nd in single buck (Thomas Klaassen) and underhand chop (Thomas Klaassen, Brogan Keenan), and 3rd in team swede saw and pole climb (Victor Labelle).
Men’s B team had a very strong second place in vertical chop (Alex Ratté, Jeremy Chevalley) as well as a 3rd place in the super swede saw individual event (Philippe Bilodeau) among a very strong group of competitors, including all 10 men’s teams. They had faster times than our Men’s A team in both these events, which will be a good motivator for the A team to push harder in practice.
Finally, the women’s A team had strong first places in team crosscut and swede saw, standing block chop (Danielle Duquette, Andréanne La Salle) and single buck (Danielle Duquette) 2nd in team log decking, axe throw (Chantal Puenter) and super swede saw (Andréanne La Salle).
We are looking forward to hosting their next competition here at Mac on January 25th!
