We live to move!

FALL 2021

During the 2021 fall semester, staff can participate in a combination of in-person activities, live streamed classes via Zoom and have access to the on-demand library of classes. The $20.00 Staff Fitness Pass enables participants to reserve spots for individual classes- not per course - offering you more variety in choice and time of workout. You can now take a yoga class on Monday, a bootcamp class on Wednesday and play pickleball on Tuesday....all for the price of one Staff Fitness Pass. JAC staff are welcome to join the McGill staff fitness program. See details below to purchase the $60 JacStaff Fitness Pass. 

Book workouts starting 48 hours prior to and up to one hour before the start of the class. Please note on-campus classes have a restricted number of participants.

Zoom codes and On-demand access will be provided to participants upon purchase of the Staff Fitness Pass.

Courses start the week of September 20.


As of September 1, 2021, access to the Macdonald Stewart indoor facilities and programs is limited to those with a vaccine passport, which will be verfied upon entry to the building.

Staff Bootcamp with Chelsea

This athletic inspired workout will put a little extra sweat in your mid-day routine. A mix of cardio and strength intervals, it’s a challenging workout that builds fitness, strength and puts an extra oomph in your step!

 

Staff Pickleball

Play the racquet sport that is taking North America by storm. A hybrid of tennis, table tennis, and badminton, pickleball is easy to learn and tons of fun to play. This class will offer the basics of pickleball after which staff can meet up over lunch and play pick up games with their colleagues.

 

Staff Yoga with Maureen

This gentle flowing class will move you through basic yoga postures designed to rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. Perfect for beginners and anyone who wants to get the kinks out of a body that’s been sitting behind a desk.

 

Staff Spin with Terri

Looking for a good sweat? Terri’s spin class offers enough challenge to keep aerobic junkies happy, while still welcoming enough for those looking to build in their current level of fitness. You’ll love the energy, music and challenge.

 

Staff Badminton

Pick up a badminton racquet at the gym office, or bring your own, and join fellow staff for friendly pick up games every Tuesday. No instruction, just a gym, a net, a racquet and fellow McGillians looking for an active break in their day.

  • Sign in using your McGill credentials
  • Click on  "Accts/Series Sale"
  • Click on "Buy Series Sales"
  • In the Module drop down box, select "Group Exercise"
  •  
  • In the Class Category drop down box, select "Mac Staff Fitness"
  • Select any one of the classes, click "submit", then proceed to checkout and submit your payment

***Zoom meeting codes and passwords will be emailed 24-48 hours after purchase

Contact the Mac gym office to create your account and recieve your login credentials (514-389-7789)

Sign in using the Community portal
Click on  "Accts/Series Sale"
Click on "Buy Series Sales"
In the Module drop down box, select "Group Exercise"
In the Class Category drop down box, select "MacJAC Staff Fitness All Access"
Select any one of the classes, click "submit", then proceed to checkout and submit your payment

***Zoom meeting codes and passwords will be emailed 24-48 hours after purchase

** Purchase of a JAC staff fitness pass entitles the user to access the lunch-time and evening in-person classes as well as the on-line fitness content. 


How to reserve a reserve a spot for your in-person fitness class

  • For in-person classes only, reserve a space in the class ( starting up to 48 hours in advance)
  • Sign in using your McGill or Community (JAC staff) credentials
  • Click on the "Book Your Workout" icon
  • Select "Mac Staff Fitness" from the drop down menu 
  • Select the Class you want to sign up for and click "Search"
  • Click "enroll" and proceed to check out
  • It will say "payable by series sale"- click submit
